ABOUT ME
All About Me!
Hi! I am Luz Salazar and this is my story.
I used to be a Top Executive at IBM. I had given 13 years of my life to the company; I had a thriving career and was going in the right direction pursuing my corporate leadership goals. I was pleased with my positive trajectory, and I believed I had it all planned out.
But life had other plans for me! In a span of only a few months, I became the trailing wife of a very successful expat executive and became a mom for the first time. This meant not only that I moved away from my hometown and had to resign from my career, but I also lost the identity that my job gave me. I was expected to become the pillar of success to my family in a new place while I was doing some soul-searching and getting to know myself again as a mom and outside of the work that was familiar to me for the last decade.

We took off from Mexico, where I am originally from, and landed in Belgium, Malaysia, and now here in the USA. During that time, I faced several challenges ranging from culture shock and the struggles that come with expat life to more internal processes where I was trying to figure out what to do next.
After a few years of allowing life to make decisions for me, I decided I wanted to take control of my own destination. Then, the questions came:
-
What do I want to do?
-
How am I going to prepare for your next move?
-
How close do I want to be with my kids?
-
What gives ME satisfaction?
I knew I needed to reinvent myself. So I started looking into my own mission, vision, and values. I knew I enjoyed being part of a bigger organization and being surrounded by people. I was looking for a way to combine that goal with the fact that I am living an expat life and that I want to be around my young children while they develop.
And that’s how I found coaching. I loved my work in the corporate world, and I loved my personal spiritual journey, so coaching became the bridge and the tangible way to put all my life learning experiences together. On one hand, I have seen first-hand how working professionals can be better supported, and on the other, I have faced enough personal challenges that they allowed me to become more intentional in the way I want to lead my life. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to be able to make something out of those challenging experiences and in working together with me, you can expect to expand your awareness of what choices you have available in any given situation and to become accountable for what you truly want to do.
When I am not coaching, you will find me being a supportive mom to my kids, playing with them in the park, or when feeling more active, hiking and biking in nature. I also enjoy practicing Reiki and recently challenged myself to start yoga and meditation. These activities keep me balanced and energized, allowing me to bring my best self to my coaching practice.

I value diversity, honesty, and integrity, and believe we are all born with a light within us. I am here to assist you in discovering answers, finding solutions, and creating possibilities to move forward in the areas you want coaching on. How ready are you to take this next step?
